What is Domain Masking?
Domain masking is a feature that allows you to use a secondary domain to represent your primary domain without revealing the original one. This technique ensures your emails look professional, secure, and trustworthy while maintaining the privacy and reputation of your main domain.
Instead of simply redirecting traffic, domain masking uses a proxy to hide the connection between your secondary and primary domains. This is especially useful for email campaigns, as it enhances deliverability, prevents spoofing alerts, and keeps your primary domain safe.

How Domain Masking Works ?

  1. DNS Setup:

You point the A record of your secondary domain to a clean, trusted IP address provided by the domain masking service.

  2. Masking Proxy:

The service sets up a proxy for your domain, complete with SSL certificates, making the domain appear secure and credible to recipients.

  3. Shared or Dedicated IPs:

The domain masking service uses a pool of shared IPs or offers dedicated IPs to maintain a high sender reputation and prevent blacklisting.

  4. Seamless Operation:

Once set up, the secondary domain is used in email headers and links, ensuring no trace of the primary domain while maintaining a professional appearance.

Why Use Domain Masking?

  1. Improve Deliverability:

    • Emails sent through masked domains are more likely to bypass spam filters and land in inboxes.

    • Masking reduces the chances of being flagged for "domain spoofing."

  2. Protect Your Primary Domain:

    • By using secondary domains, you keep your primary domain safe from blacklisting or spam complaints.

  3. Boost Engagement:

    • Emails appear more trustworthy, passing corporate spam filters like Barracuda and Mimecast, leading to higher reply rates.

  4. Professional Appearance:

    • Each secondary domain appears secure and unique, which enhances your brand credibility.
