Zapmail offers multiple services — base plans, additional mailboxes, ZapShield, Pre-Warmed Mailboxes, and other add-ons. Since these subscriptions can have different billing dates, you may end up making several separate payments throughout the month.
Consolidated Billing fixes this by bringing your eligible subscription funding into a single payment. You pick one billing date, fund your Zapmail Wallet with the combined amount, and Zapmail deducts each subscription's charge from the wallet on its own schedule.
This guide covers how Consolidated Billing works and how to turn it on.
Note: The pricing in this article is illustrative only. Your actual charges depend on your plans, add-ons, billing cycles, and pricing at the time of purchase or renewal — check your Zapmail dashboard for your real numbers.
🔍 How Consolidated Billing Works
Without it, every subscription bills on its own date, which can mean several card or bank transactions spread across the month.
With it, Zapmail combines your eligible subscription charges into one wallet-funding amount on the date you choose.
For example, say you're running these monthly subscriptions:
Service | Illustrative Monthly Amount |
Base Plan | $39 |
ZapShield | $5 |
Pre-Warmed Mailboxes | $10 |
Additional Mailboxes | $3.50 |
Total | $57.50 |
(ZapShield and Pre-Warmed Mailboxes figures are hypothetical, not actual prices.)
Instead of four separate payments on four different dates, you fund your Zapmail Wallet with $57.50 once, on your chosen date. Zapmail then pulls each subscription's charge from that balance when it's actually due.
How it works, step by step:
You choose a billing date — pick your preferred date for consolidated wallet funding.
Zapmail combines the eligible charges — your base plan, additional mailboxes, and supported add-ons.
You make one payment — the combined amount is charged to your payment method and added to your wallet.
Zapmail deducts automatically — each subscription's charge comes out of the wallet when it hits its own billing date.
The result: fewer external payments, same individual billing schedules underneath.
🚀 How to Enable Consolidated Billing
Step 1: Open the Billing section
Log in to your Zapmail dashboard.
Click Billing > Wallet in the left sidebar.
Find the Consolidated Billing option.
Step 2: Turn it on
Toggle on Consolidated Billing.
Review the wallet-funding and subscription-payment details shown on screen.
Step 3: Pick your billing date
Select your preferred date of the month for wallet funding.
Review the charges shown, then confirm.
Your chosen date now controls wallet funding — your individual subscriptions keep their own billing schedules underneath.
🔍 How Charges Get Deducted
Consolidated Billing only changes how your wallet gets funded — not when each subscription is actually billed.
For example, say your subscriptions bill on these dates:
Service | Billing Date | Illustrative Amount |
Base Plan | 5th | $39 |
ZapShield | 12th | $5 |
Pre-Warmed Mailboxes | 18th | $10 |
Additional Mailboxes | 25th | $3.50 |
You fund the wallet once, on your chosen date. As each subscription hits its own billing date, Zapmail deducts that charge from the wallet balance.
In short: your card or bank funds the wallet; the wallet pays your subscriptions on their usual schedules.
Why Use It
Fewer payments — one combined charge instead of several scattered through the month.
Simpler tracking — fund your base plan, mailboxes, and add-ons through one wallet.
A date you control — pick whichever day of the month works best for you.
Still automatic — subscriptions keep billing on their own schedules behind the scenes.
Clear visibility — see your wallet balance and subscription charges in one place.
⚠️ Frequently Asked Questions
Does this merge all my subscriptions into one? No. Each subscription stays separate with its own billing schedule — Consolidated Billing only combines the funding side.
Will I still see multiple charges on my card? It's designed to reduce them to one per billing cycle, though other payments you initiate separately can still show up.
Will my subscription billing dates change? No — only the wallet-funding date changes. Each subscription keeps billing on its usual date.
What if my wallet balance isn't enough? A subscription payment may not go through. Check your wallet balance in the Billing section and keep it topped up ahead of upcoming charges.
Which services can be included? Your base plan, additional mailboxes, ZapShield, Pre-Warmed Mailboxes, and other supported add-ons — exact availability depends on your account.
Can I pick the payment date myself? Yes — you choose your preferred billing date when you set it up.
