How to Delete Mailboxes in Zapmail

Deleting mailboxes in Zapmail helps you manage usage, clean up unused inboxes, and keep your workspace organized. You can delete a single mailbox or multiple mailboxes at once, depending on your needs.


Deleting Mailboxes (Single or Bulk)

Step 1: Open the Mailboxes Dashboard

  • Log in to your Zapmail dashboard

  • Navigate to the Mailboxes section


Step 2: Select the Mailbox(es)

  • Single mailbox: Click the mailbox you want to delete

  • Multiple mailboxes: Use the checkboxes to select more than one


Step 3: Start Deletion

  • Click Delete Mailbox (for single deletion), or

  • Click Mailbox Actions → Delete Mailboxes (for bulk deletion)

A confirmation popup will appear with the selected mailboxes.


Step 4: Confirm Deletion

  • Review the mailbox details

  • Click Delete to confirm

The selected mailboxes will move to Deletion in Progress status.


What Happens After Deletion

  • Mailboxes are scheduled for deletion, not removed instantly

  • Deletion can take up to 24 hours to complete

  • You can track the status directly from the Mailboxes dashboard


Canceling a Mailbox Deletion

You can cancel a mailbox deletion only while the status is Deletion in Progress.

To cancel deletion:

  • Go to the Mailboxes section

  • For Google, click on the admin mailbox
    For Microsoft, click on the mailbox you want to restore

  • In the sidebar, select Cancel Deletion

⚠️ Important: Once a mailbox is permanently deleted, it cannot be recovered.


Important Notes

⏳ Scheduled Deletion

  • Active mailboxes will be locked until the current billing cycle ends

  • Deletion completes automatically once the cycle finishes


⚠️ Mailboxes With Errors

  • Mailboxes with unresolved errors cannot be deleted

  • Fix the issue first or contact support, then retry deletion


🚨 Admin Mailbox Warning

  • Deleting an admin mailbox will remove the entire workspace

  • Proceed only if you intend to delete the workspace


🔒 Partial Deletion Not Supported

  • All mailboxes on a domain must be deleted together

  • Deleting individual mailboxes while keeping others on the same domain is not supported


🎉 You’re All Set!

Your mailboxes are now scheduled for deletion. Once the process completes, your workspace will reflect the updated mailbox count automatically.
